||2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
The 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, it was pretty obvious the midsize sedan hasn't changed much. Even with heavy camouflage, its overall size and shape tell us that it barely differs from the current model. Unlike the smaller, extensively redesigned 2008 C-Class, the next-generation E-Class will continue on a more evolutionary track.
The major changes to the face of the new E-Class are the trapezoidal outer headlamps and square-shapped inner lamps - a significant move away from the circular lamps that have characterised the two generations of E-Class since 1995.
The concept also hints at a sharper look for the E-Class's front end, based on the ConceptFascination's pointed grille leading to a sharp bonnet crease.
The concept's F1 splitter-inspired lower bumper assemby will also make it to production, abeit in a toned-down form. This is likely a feature on Sports trim models, which ohterwise won't be as dramatically differentiated as on the C-Class, where the huge central three-pointed star.
The CLK has long been positioned as a sort of E-Class coupe, despite always been built on the C-Class platform. Whether the new model has switched to the E-Class chassis remains to be seen, but the visual similarities will be as close as ever. That being said, expect the coupe to slightly grow from the current car.
Engines will also come from the E-Class line-up and will include everything from the basic V6 to the 6.2-liter AMG V8.
